“Self-care means giving yourself permission to pause”. ~ Dr. Cecilia Tran

The holidays can leave us feeling stretched thin – managing everything for everyone else. Now it’s time to pause, reflect, and focus on YOU! Right before the New Year, I discovered Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning and have embraced self-care through his SAVERS:

Silence: Quiet moments for peace and clarity.

Affirmations: Building myself up with positive words.

Visualization: Focusing on goals and dreams.

Exercise: Moving to energize my body and mind.

Reading: Gaining inspiration to grow.

Scribing: Journaling to reflect and find gratitude.

What are you doing today to prioritize yourself? Join me for “Challenge #21: Prioritizing YOU”! Let’s make self-care a priority together. What are YOU focusing on today, this month, this season? Are you reading, going for a walk, meditating, journaling, or doing something creative? Whether it’s one of these or something else, comment below to join this challenge so we can inspire each other to prioritize self-care! I will draw a name from all social media and email responses to win a dōTERRA OnGuard Sanitizing Mist spray. When we are kind to ourselves and have more energy, we are more apt to be kind to others. Join me as we start ripples around the country…and maybe even around the world!

  1. Self care is paramount to my health and always has been. I am the only one who can do it and it goes a litttle something like this . . . I rise early in the morning, most days, at 333 am, Archangel Gabriel time. I get ready for the day, feed my cats and drink two different teas that aid in digestion, one is senna/peppermint, and the other is rosemary/thyme/chamomile. Both are cold brewed and drunk cold.
Then it is time for My Morning Words of Wisdom. I have a binder filled with inspirational words that I read aloud to different videos on my YouTube Playlist, Mind Movie. All inspire me to get as high up on the emotional as I can. All are help me visualize my one true desire in life, Dancing Raven Ranch & Retreat Center/Cookin’ with Klibs Kitchen Shoppe.
The first video I listen to is, I Release Any Energies That Are Not Mine – Lee Harris & Davor Bozic. While he is singing the song, I let go of any troubles, woos and worries.

Next, while The Alan Parsons Project – Sirius Extended Version plays, I read my Four Agreements. While they are based on Miguel Don Ruiz’s, I have added much into them. Such as but not limited to, the Four Elements, the Four Directions, The Four Archangels, The Four Parts of Prayer, The Four types of Love, and a bit more.
Then, it is time for the 5 Minute Journal. It is based on the one by Intelligent Change with some changes and additions. Rather than buying one, I use a composition journal that is artfully embellished.
    • After I write the date on the page, ## Mon, I use the adjective for the day: Splendid Sunday, Marvelous Monday, Terrific Tuesday, Wonderful Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Fabulous Friday, and Satisfying Saturday!
    • Now, it is time to evaluate where I am on the Map of Consciousness (emotional scale) that was first developed in Power vs. Force by David R. Hawkins. It moves from the lowest point, 0 at 20 Hz, shame; up to highest point, at 22 at 1000 Hz of total Peace, Love and Joy. This information can be used to graph out how I am doing and what I can do to get higher.
    • Three blessings from the past 24 hours that I am grateful for . . . and that includes challenges that help me grow
    • Three plans for my day that it will make it a good one
    • My affirmation for the day. It may be from my list of 18. They are based on Dr. Wayne Dyers.
There are a couple of other parts to my morning that involve body movements to keep my limber and flexible.
Additionally, I love to take good care of my diet and will meal prep on one day for the week. I love doing Meal-In-A-Box salad for myself. Once they are done, I am good to go for the week. It may take up to an hour or so however, it is time well spent as it is a huge time saver. I believe in it so much, I do it for my clients.

Once a week, an Oatmeal/Rose shower is the balm to heal me as it is soothing on my skin

Ever since I was a little girl, I have reveled in the garden. The edible garden that is. I grow some of the food it eat using Permaculture practices. Again, I believe in it so much, I do it for my clients.
Other self care practices are the events I lead, Color Me Joyful, The Wander-Full Labyrinth Walkers and crystal sound bowl concerts coming in the summer of 2025 at a park to be determined.
I hope that this encourages you to develop your self care regime. Remember, self care can be a simple as thanking creation for your glass of water, marveling in a glorious sunset or totally enjoying a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. It is all about lifting yourself up!

  2. Thank you, Mary, for this detailed information! You really know how to take good care of yourself! What’s the best way for someone to contact you for more information?

  3. I’m doing more grounding exercises and meditation. Trying to reconnect with spirit and myself. Whenever I stay in this practice, I feel more clarity and connected with myself and my goals!
